Description

Marsdenia tenacissima is a medical plant of the Asclepiadaceae family, which has been long used as a therapy to treat different diseases like cancer, asthma, and inflammation. Metabolic fingerprinting of M. tenacissima has been used to isolate many kinds of secondary metabolites such as polyoxypregnane glycosides. Among them, tenacissosides, marsdenosides, and tenacigenosides were supported as the main bioactive constituents.
