Description
Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Ait.) Hassk (Myrtaceae), widely distributed in East Asia and Southeast Asia, including Japan, Thailand, and southern China, is an evergreen shrub. The stems, leaves, and fruits of R. tomentosa are widely used as a traditional medicine to treat chronic dysentery, rheumatism, hepatitis, and hyperlipemia by virtue of high content of mono- and sesqui-terpenes.
