Description

Lycoris longituba is a traditional medicinal plant of the Amaryllidaceae family and is endemic to the eastern temperate regions of China. Like other species in the Lycoris genus, the dried bulbs of L. longituba are used as a Chinese medicinal herb to treat carbuncle, sore throat, and edema. It has been reported that L. longituba contains an abundance of Amaryllidaceae alkaloids and is a valuable medicinal plant source.
