Description

Hippophae rhamnoides L. (Sea buckthorn) is widely distributed in temperate zones of Asia and Europe and subtropical regions of Asia at high altitudes. Sea buckthorn berries, along with bark and leaves, have been used for medicinal and nutritional purposes in Russia and China since hundreds of years. Berries of the Sea buckthorn plant are a potential source of many bioactive compounds including vitamins, organic acids, fatty acids, flavonoids, and antioxidants.
