Dendrobium moniliforme (Linnaeus) Swartz, is one of the most widespread species in the Orchidaceae family, which is a widely cultivated medicinal crop around Asia. D. moniliforme has the characteristics of a thin stem, small flower, and it is a representative plant of Chinese traditional medicine that is often processed into finished medicinal materials. It is widely used as folk medicine for antipyretic purpose, benefits to eyes, and as a tonic. D. moniliforme plants main active ingredients are polysaccharides, alkaloids, bibenzyls, fluorenone compounds, glycosides, amino acids and several trace mineral elements.
