Coix lacryma-jobi L., commonly known as adlay or Job’s tears, is a widely cultivated crop in East and Southeast Asia. Coix is a key ingredient in traditional Chinese herbal medicine. The Kanglaite drug extracted from Coix seeds has been widely used to cure cancer and reduce the side effects of other treatments.
