Description
Bletilla striata, typically known as an important species of the Bletilla genus, is a significant medicinal compound for the treatment of many diseases, as recorded by Chinese pharmacopoeia. It is an ornamental flower but belongs to the Orchidaceae family. Wild B. striata sources are primarily distributed across Yunnan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Hubei, and Zhejiang Provinces of China at elevations from 110-3,200 m, as well as the Korean Peninsula and Japan. At present, various constituents have been extracted and isolated from dried B. striata pseudobulbs, including polysaccharides, benzyl, phenanthrax, astragalus, terpenes, ethers, and anthocyanins.
