Description
Dalbergia odorifera T. Chen, formerly named Dalbergia hainanensis Merr. et Chun, is a medium-sized evergreen tree belonging to the Fabaceae family. D. odorifera originated in Hainan, China, and has been gradually introduced and cultivated in Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang, Guangxi, and Yunnan, China. Apart from its excellence as a wood product, the HW of D. odorifera, which is known as “JiangXiang” in traditional Chinese medicine, has been included in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia for decades and is widely used to dissipate stasis, stop bleeding, and relieve pain. D. odorifera HW is also used to treat blood stagnation syndrome, ischemia, swelling, necrosis, and rheumatic pain in Korea.
